Continuing Education (CE) Programs

Introduction

This article will outline the process for creating a new Continuing Education (CE) Program and adding it to a License Type in the Quality module of the Workbench. Once this is completed properly, your licensees will be able to enter CE Activities in the CE Plan associated with this CE Program. Follow the steps outlined below. CE Plans are automatically assigned to a Licensee when their License application or Renewal application is approved and they have an “active” status for their license.

Adding a CE Program to a License Type

  1. Navigate to the Quality Module of the Workbench by clicking the grid icon in the upper right corner of the Workbench screen.
  2. Click the menu selector icon in the upper left corner to slide out the Quality module Menu and select the Programs option in the Continuing Education section.
  3. In the new breadcrumb, choose the + icon to add a new CE Program.
  4. Please include a CE Program Name, choose what License Type this Program should be associated with, along with a License Status.
    • NOTE: You can configure multiple CE Programs per status for the same License Type i.e. having more CE Units required for an expired License status.
  5. Choose Minimum Units Required to denote how many credits/hours are required for this License Type to satisfy the regulatory requirements.
    • Choose Maximum Units allowed in conjunction with “Allow carryover Units” to ensure that the extra credits/hours rollover to the next CE Program timeframe.
    • Be sure to set the Unit of Measurement either Credits or Hours appropriately for this CE Program.
  6. Under “Period” be sure to select “Yes” for Program Dates are same as License Period to prevent the Licensee from renewing their license without satisfying the CE Program minimum required Units.
  7. Be sure to set the “program effective start date and time” and the “submission deadline” to allow Licensees to submit properly.
  8. Exemption Conditions under the Connections in CE Programs allow for logic such as “If this licensee has never held a license before, the first year of CE requirements are waived”. If you need this logic configured in your environment, please submit a change request to the support team.
