Taking an Exam on the Application Portal

Overview

Regulatory Examinations support jurisprudence, law, and rules exams that are often required for licensure. These multiple-choice exams can be quickly configured and are designed to prevent the user from moving forward until the exam is successfully completed.

Key features:

  • Multiple-choice questions (with optional mandatory questions and random question pools).
  • Time limits and passing scores can be set.
  • Payment collection before the exam begins.
  • Ability to require a retake fee for second and subsequent attempts.
  • Applicable to various processes, including:
    • New application
    • License renewal
    • License reinstatement
    • Authorization application
    • Custom processes

Steps for Portal Users

  1. Begin a process such as a new application, license renewal, reinstatement, authorization, or any custom process where an exam is required.
  2. When you reach the stage requiring an examination, click Start Exam.
    • If payment is required, you must complete payment before starting.
    • The exam may have a time limit and a minimum passing score, which will be displayed.
  3. Complete all multiple-choice questions. Some questions may be mandatory and always appear, while others may be randomly selected from a question pool, so the exam may look different on each attempt.
  4. After finishing, you’ll see your score.
  5. If you pass, you can move forward to the next stage of the application or process.
  6. If you do not pass, you may attempt the exam again, provided attempts remain.
  7. The system may require a retake fee for second and subsequent attempts.
  8. The maximum number of attempts and exam expiration date are configurable and will be displayed to you.
  9. If you reach the maximum allowed attempts before passing:
    • You cannot continue with the current application or process.
    • You will need to cancel and reapply after the exam expiration date passes.

Quick Tips

  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection and enough uninterrupted time to finish before the time limit (if any).
  • Review any reference materials provided by your regulator before starting.
  • If you have technical issues during the exam, reach out to your regulator’s support contact listed in the portal.
